Flørli is a rare gem far away from it all. It’s is only reachable by boat, located in a beautiful fjord setting and it is a great base for many spectacular hikes. It has historic significance as one of Norway’s few historic hydropower station. The tiny village surrounding the station, housed the worker’s families. Nowadays the hydropower comes from within the mountain and the historic village has become a popular tourist destination. In Flørli you can hike up the world’s longest wooden stairway with its 4444 steps up the mountainside and do other scenic hikes, like the Flørli Cliffhike.
Flørli is perfectly suited for week-long retreats with sporty groups that enjoy the outdoor. Groups can best travel to Stavanger and take the boat from there directly to Flørli (3 times a week). There are 4 spacious apartments available that can fit up to 9 people each – all have a spectacular fjord view. Also, there is Flørli Historic Hostel that can be used bigger groups up to 20.
There are no shops in Flørli, so a retreat here requires some planning. Please inquire first before you book.
We will provide you with bed linen and towels.
Week-long retreats will get one hottub evening included. Shorter retreats can rent the hottub (see pricing options)
Fishing rods can be borrowed for free (but guests need to buy a fishing lure or bring their own)
Canoes can be borrowed for free based on availability and weather conditions (please always ask the host first).
Food is not included in your stay. There are no shops in Flørli, so the only option is to either have dinner at the Flørli summer-open restaurant or order all food to be delivered by boat. It’s recommended that you provide a meal plan for your guests to cook themselves and distribute the food per apartment at the beginning of the retreat. The host has a lot of experience in making a meal plan for groups and can help you with ordering the food from the local store.
